There’s something so special about photographing weddings that feel personal. Josh and Amanda’s wedding in Newmarket, Ontario, was one of those days that perfectly blended heartfelt moments, laughter, and the beauty of home.
Their wedding took place at a family friend’s estate, and from the moment I arrived, I could feel how much love was woven into every detail. The rolling farm landscape, golden fields, and open sky created the most breathtaking backdrop for their ceremony and portraits.
Josh and Amanda shared an intimate first kiss alone, and it couldn’t have been more genuine or full of emotion. It was one of those moments where everything else fades away, and all you can feel is love.
What made this day truly unforgettable was the energy between them. They were relaxed, playful, and full of joy , the kind of couple who know how to keep things light, even on such a big day. They laughed through portraits, sipped their beers between moments, and just soaked in the calm and happiness of being surrounded by their favorite people. And of course, their two pups were part of the celebration. They made sure to sneak in plenty of snuggles and moments with them throughout the day, which added such a sweet, personal touch. Including their dogs made the entire day feel even more like them.
During portraits, they even had a horse to join the fun, followed by a surprise visit from one of the barn cats, totally unplanned but perfectly fitting for this farm wedding. Those little spontaneous moments are always some of my favorites to capture.
The tented reception was absolutely stunning, filled with soft lights, rustic touches, and laughter echoing late into the night. As the evening went on, everyone danced the night away under the twinkle lights of the tent, celebrating love, friendship, and one truly incredible couple.
