Newmarket Maternity Photographer | Sunset Farm Session
This maternity session was a fun one for so many reasons. Mostly because Amanda and I were both very pregnant at the same time. Our due dates were only a couple of days apart, and we were both right in that final stretch, waddling through the session together and laughing about it the whole time.
I’ve known Amanda and Josh for a while now. I photographed their engagement session and their wedding after photographing Amanda’s cousin’s wedding, so getting to document another chapter of their lives felt really special. Seeing them step into this season together was so sweet and honestly just really fun.
We photographed this session on the same farm where they got married, which made it even more meaningful. It’s a family friend’s estate and one of those places that feels calm and open and perfect for sunset sessions. Josh very clearly took on the role of watching over both of us as we hopped into the four by four to get around the property, making sure no one went into labour mid session.
The light was beautiful, the vibe was relaxed, and Amanda and Josh were just so happy and excited. We did a quick outfit change, wandered through the fields, swatted away what felt like a million mosquitoes, and laughed the entire time. Somehow, despite how pregnant we all were, everything came together perfectly.
And best of all, no babies arrived during the session. A definite win.
Sessions like this are such a reminder of how fun maternity photos can be. They don’t have to be serious or posed. They can be relaxed, meaningful, and full of real moments that actually feel like you.
